The options for funding a new enterprise are growing and diversifying. From angels to incubators to crowdfunding to venture capital to debt vehicles, what is the best for you?

DEN DC is bringing together a panel of experienced investors who work from the earliest stages of funding through late-stage growth capital.

We’ll be discussing the ins and outs of various options and learn from the insiders what it takes to get funded and what trends they see emerging that will impact entrepreneurs in the coming years.

  • Jim Hunt: angel investor and managing partner at VA-based Lavrock Ventures, who founded BDS (IPOed as BTG) and Ernst & Young Technologies (acquired by Cap Gemeni)
  • Geoff Orazem: co-founder and managing director of Eastern Foundry incubator in Arlington
  • Sergio Rodriguera: co-founder of The Credit Junction, a DC-based FinTech firm offering growth capital
  • Whitney Haring-Smith: managing partner at Anzu Partners, who focuses on seed and venture investments

The panel will be moderated by DEN DC's Akin Sawyer (Tu '03 entrepreneur) and Kyle Teamey (D '98, entrepreneur and investor).

We particularly encourage attendance by:

  • Anyone interested in funding a new or expanding enterprise
  • Funders looking to network
  • Anyone curious about the subject matter
