DEN-DC will host an evening where an entrepreneur will give his pitch to a panel of VCs.

  • Do you know how to pitch to VCs?
  • What are the most important things that a venture capitalist is looking for in a pitch presentation?

Please register here.

Now you have the opportunity to see a real-live VC pitch in a non-combative environment. You can sit in, participate and learn the do’s and don’t s of pitch presentations. Please register below.

The Pitchman:  The pitchman is Frank Phillips, the founder and CEO of a Great Academic Inc. Great Academic is developing the world’s most comprehensive global "On-Demand eLearning Platform" that harnesses the power of cloud computing to deliver individualized learning content to anyone, anywhere and anyhow. Frank has developed a comprehensive business plan. All he needs is the money, and that is where this presentation comes in. He is about ready to pitch to VCs but wants an honest assessment of what he should and shouldn’t do in his pitch and how to go forward.

VC Panel: Our panel of three VCs are Wayne Bardsley, Doug Beekman and Wendell Jenkins, DEN-DC members who have been on both sides of the table. They have been both VCs and pitchmen and are polished pitchmen in their own right. They will ask questions and offer their suggestions as if they were looking to invest. And most importantly, they will offer their ideas on how our pitchman can refine his presentation and offer their views and what his expectations should be.

You are the Audience: You will have the opportunity to offer your suggestions and ask your questions about what the pitchman could have done to better his presentation and what expectations he should have coming from the presentation. The pitchman will have 20 minutes for his pitch, and the VCs will have 20 minutes for questions and then we will open up the discussion to all attendees for another 20 minutes.  Then, as usual, we’ll have time for meeting and networking.
