Please join us for a meeting and a discussion with David Greene, Vice President and Financial Advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management.

David Greene is a former business owner and entrepreneur who advises entrepreneurial families in their personal financial planning. He will provide insights into the financial planning process in general as well as specific illustrations of pre-sale planning for business owners and entrepreneurs who may be moving from a P&L to a portfolio as their primary means of financial support.

David’s talk will be titled “Financial Planning for Entrepreneurs.”

Abstract of the Talk

It is always easier to get where you’re going if you have a good map – or a good navigator - to help guide you.

While personal financial planning provides the foundation for personal financial success, business owners and entrepreneurs face unique challenges in building their financial plans. Moreover, faced with the day-to-day challenges of running a business, few business owners have the time or the inclination to properly plan for their personal financial future.

Today’s economic environment makes prudent personal financial planning all the more important. The public markets are volatile, full of risks and opportunities. The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (ATRA) has significantly changed the income and transfer-tax options at a business owner’s disposal ahead of a transaction. Now, more than ever, a business owner must prepare carefully for the potential sale of a business and deploy a thoughtful tax strategy. Planning for the sale of a business needs to start months or years ahead of a transaction.
